Know Your Business Philippines Inc. is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. To that end, we have prepared this privacy statement to disclose and describe our information-gathering and dissemination practices for this website.

This Privacy Statement sets out how Know Your Business Philippines Inc. (KYBP) collects, uses, manages, and protects the personal data or information (Personal Data) that it collects whether as a controller or processor.

Personal Data

KYBP can collect and use Personal Data. For the purposes of carrying our business (including the verification of the identity to detect, prevent and address fraud, security or technical issues, the registration, activation and management of the Client and/or Vendor’s account with KYBP, and the billing and charging of KYBP’s services and complying with laws, rules, guidelines, regulations and/or requests issued by applicable government authorities, courts, law enforcement or other authorities or regulatory bodies, you may be requested to provide Data such as, but not limited to:

  1. contact details including name, address, phone number, mobile telephone number and/or email address;
  2. the name, date of birth and other details documented on your Passport or other government-issued competent proof of identity;
  3. Personal Data that you have shared with our app for guests entering our facilities;
  4. payment details including account number and other electronic banking Data;
  5. all Data requested by applicable government authorities, courts, law enforcement or other authorities or regulatory bodies to enable us to comply with or in connection with any law, rule, regulation, judgment or court order (whether within or outside the Philippines); and
  6. any other Data as may be required, necessary and applicable on the corresponding availed Service Agreement.

In some instances, we may seek your consent to process the following “Sensitive Personal Information” (SPI) in order from KYBP to further improve our Services and/or better tailor the type of information or content that we present to you and improve our business relationship:

  1. age;
  2. gender and ethnicity;
  3. marital status;
  4. employment details;
  5. education and profession;
  6. hobbies and leisure activities; and
  7. family and household demographics.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We will usually store your personal data in systems where we conduct business with you, it will be fully protected under the Data Protection Legislation.

Personal data security is essential to us and to protect personal data, we take the following measures:


(a)
limiting access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties with a legitimate need to know and ensuring that they are subject to duties of confidentiality;
(b)procedures for dealing with data breaches (the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to, your personal data) include notifying you and/or the relevant supervisory authority for your jurisdiction if we are legally required to do so;
(c)security features available in our cloud hosting platform and employment of the security guidance and best practices as recommended by said platform to secure our servers and applications running on these servers.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

We are aware of our responsibilities to protect your personal data, to keep it secure and compliant under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines particularly, The Republic Act No. 10173 also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

We apply the requirements of this law (and any other applicable laws) to how we handle all personal data wherever received.

If you wish to access or amend any of your Personal Data that we hold, or request that we delete any of your information that is no longer necessary for the provision of our Services, you may contact us in the manner as set forth under the “How to Contact Us” section.

You may decline to share Personal Data with us and/or withdraw any consent which you may have provided, in which case, we may not be able to provide you with some of our Services or we may discontinue availing your Company’s Services.

At any time, you may object to us holding or processing your Data, on legitimate grounds, save and except as otherwise permitted by the applicable law.
